How to Apply?
Applications are now open!
Thank you for your interest in M-HEAL! Our recruitment cycle begins at the start of each semester! Please join our F26 interest form and access the application for our Fall 2026 Season below! Follow our instagram (@mheal_um) for updates!
Requirements
Here at M-HEAL, we do not necessarily require any previous experience or specific skills to join a project team. We understand that not all applicants had the same opportunities to gain prior experience, and some prospective members might only recently have discovered their passion for global health and design. More than anything, we want to see self motivation, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn. Once you become a member, you have the option of getting involved in as many or as few of our programs as you would like. If you think you might enjoy what we do here, we highly encourage you to apply!
OUR RECRUITMENT PROCESS
Fall 2026 Recruitment TimelineApplications will be due at 5:00 PM on September 15th. We do not accept late applications under any circumstances.
Applications will then be given to teams who will decide who they would like to invite for interviews.
A few days later, expect emails from teams you applied to offering an interview. If you are not being offered an interview for any team, you will be notified. However it could be the case that some teams you apply for offer you interviews and others do not. Any questions regarding this process should be directed towards our current Vice President of Member Affairs, Anders Hansen (aandersh@umich.edu) - not the Project Leads.
After interviews, teams will rank their preferences and board will sort everyone into teams based on the applicant’s ranks and the team’s ranks. Teams will not know or be able to see if you applied to other teams. You will only receive one offer, which will be from the team which you get sorted into based on the rankings.
After this, you attend M-HEAL New Member Orientation that usually takes place within the week of your official acceptance, and your respective team or program will have their own on-boarding processes.
If you do not get into a project team or desired program, we encourage you to become reapply the next semester!
