Health Engineered for All Lives.

We are a University of Michigan student organization that fosters interdisciplinary work in global health, design, and entrepreneurship.

About Us

We are made up of 239 students from 8 schools and colleges across Michigan’s campus with passion about equity in global health.

Through our projects and programs, students acquire technical and interpersonal skills and use them to develop innovative healthcare solutions. Furthermore, they build lasting relationships with partners and peers alike.

M-HEAL supports nine project teams. Each team partners with a healthcare professional or a clinic in the global community to design and build user-centered solutions to real problems. We also support an Incubator program, through which students can learn the basic skills necessary to succeed and thrive on project teams (both in college and beyond!).

Our organization also engages members through volunteer initiatives, professional development events, travel opportunities, and social gatherings.

In all of our activities, M-HEAL strives to cultivate a well-informed, creative, and collaborative community that works to positively impact global health.

Our Mission

Our mission is to use education, needs assessment, design innovation, and social entrepreneurship to improve access to health care in underdeveloped communities.

Our Vision

We envision a world where every person has access to appropriate, affordable, and high-quality health care.
