PROJECT TEAMS

The primary component of M-HEAL are our esteemed project teams. Each team focuses on an innovation that tackles a specific health care need born out of either a senior design trip abroad or a SANA spring needs assessment trip. From neonatal asphyxia in India to pressure ulcers in Guatemala, project teams work closely with low-resource communities worldwide to tackle myriad health issues. Most teams have travel opportunities within the team to visit with established community partners and clinics from the country they work with. Teams are at different stages in the design process, some are beginning their designs, others are prototyping while others are building and distributing. Our projects follow the socially engaged design approach and believe in long term, sustainable solutions. Teams usually are composed of subcommittees that allow for students of various skills and disciplines to work together towards their project’s mission.
