MEMbers

At the beginning of every semester, M-HEAL hosts mass meetings in which all project teams showcase their work and answer questions. This is an excellent opportunity for members to learn more about each of the project teams, the Incubator, our programs, and our organization.  Project Team applications will open soon for Fall 2018, and SANA and EHCO applications will open later in the semester. If you are interested in joining a team sometime in the middle of the semester, email our secretary, Lainie Eisner, at leisner@umich.edu.

MENTORS

M-HEAL project teams need guidance as they advance their projects, and M-HEAL seeks mentors from a wide range of backgrounds. Project teams have questions about developing and implementing their design, and they seek perspectives on technologies, design, material choice, culture, medicine, marketability, funding, international partners, social ventures and more. If you are interested in mentoring one of our teams, please contact our president, Saumya Gupta, at saugupta@umich.edu.

Stryker

M-HEAL is proud to partner with Stryker, a leading medical technology company dedicated to making healthcare better through innovative products and services. M-HEAL is partnering with Stryker through the University of Michigan Multidisciplinary Design Program (MDP), allowing M-HEAL students to pursue academic credits for their work on project teams. Equipped with industry experience and technical skills, Stryker engineers serve as MDP mentors for individual project teams, guiding MDP members through roadblocks during the rigorous design process and pushing MDP members to see the larger picture behind design teams. M-HEAL thanks Stryker for allowing project teams and members to develop under an industry-centered mentorship, and we are excited to see the future of this collaboration.

National Instruments

M-HEAL is proud to partner with NI, the provider of platform-based systems that enable engineers and scientists to solve the world’s greatest engineering challenges.  NI is known for inspiring and preparing the next generation of engineering leaders and is working closely with M-HEAL members to further our mission and vision.

NI mentors M-HEAL members to provide engineering guidance and expertise to help students develop professional, career-ready skills. Through this partnership, we hope to both advance leadership growth and accelerate project development. We look forward to seeing our partnership with NI blossom in the coming years.

AUTODESK

M-HEAL is proud to partner with Autodesk, a multinational software corporation whose products help people imagine, design, and create a better world. Autodesk has a significant presence in the education community, investing in students by providing them access to Autodesk’s products. Autodesk facilitates skill-building workshops with M-HEAL in which members learn to use 3D modeling, 3D printing, design ethnography, and the design process to design a better future. These skills are invaluable for M-HEAL’s members, and we are proud to continue to work with Autodesk to provide M-HEAL’s members with more co-curricular learning experiences.

If you are interested in partnering with M-HEAL, please contact our External Vice President, Riley Pacella, rpacella@umich.edu
